The Darcy Family

The Darcy Group is a family owned, multi-venue operation that represents over four decades of experience within the Australian Hospitality Industry.

The history of the Group commenced with David and Janet Darcy, who jointly developed and nurtured a number of key venues in South Australia, including the Fountain Inn Hotel, Mansions Tavern, Colonist Tavern and Roxby Downs Motor Inn.

A move into Victoria saw the next generation of Darcy’s, Matthew, Kim, Luke and Alysha, take on key roles in the business – and marked the formation of the Darcy enterprise.

Together the family successfully revived and operated venues in Victoria, including the Dingley International Motor Inn and the Anglers Tavern in Maribyrnong – which undertook a complete transformation to become a popular nightspot before being sold in 2008.

The Darcy‘s ventured to Richmond in 2009 to refurbish and revive the site formerly known as the Depot Hotel, into the grand and sophisticated Precinct Hotel that is so popular today.

Close to the heart of the AFL action and the Darcy family values, its proximity to the MCG, has seen Precinct Hotel develop into a well-respected venue attracting sports fans, business clients and faithful live music, weekend enthusiasts.

In the wake of this success, the Darcy family has expanded it’s portfolio with two new venues, boasting prime positioning inside South Wharf – Melbourne Public and Citizen bar & café.

As well, the recent acquisition of Motel Nightclub has firmly established the Darcy Group, which will continue to prosper and expand through the combined passion, experience and expertise of the Darcy Family members.
